Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Clerical Support Specialist provides administrative and clerical support to Dallas Independent School District departments by performing a variety of office, records management, customer service, and data entry functions. This position ensures efficient day-to-day office operations while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide general administrative and clerical support to assigned departments.
• Answer telephones, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and the public.
• Prepare, process, and maintain confidential records, files, and reports.
• Enter, update, and maintain information in district databases and electronic systems.
• Organize, scan, file, retrieve, and archive paper and electronic documents.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other office documents.
• Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain departmental calendars.
• Assist with mail distribution, document preparation, and records management activities.
• Verify, review, and process forms, applications, and other administrative documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain office supplies and assist with general office organization and workflow.
• Support departmental projects and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous clerical, administrative, customer service, or office support experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of standard office equipment.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of files, records, and office supplies up to 25 pounds.
• Repetitive use of hands and fingers for keyboarding and data entry.
