Job Summary:
The Administrative Clerk performs a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and customer service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization. In addition, the Administrative Clerk performs diverse clerical, technical, and administrative tasks that require extensive knowledge of office procedures and computer skills.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Greet and direct clients and visitors
- Make appointments and referrals
-Answer phone calls and emails
-Perform data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable, purchase orders, equipment inventory, and confidential employee or departmental files
-Receive, record, and distribute packages and mail
-Compile budget data and maintain financial records as requested
-Copy, collate, and otherwise prepare reports for mailings, meetings, and other correspondence
-Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
-Ability to greet visitors, clients, and colleagues in a friendly and courteous manner
-Ability to type at least 50 wpm with accuracy
-Ability to proofread
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar/new software (to include usage of digital cameras)
-Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
-Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems
-Ability to organize and prioritize work
-Knowledge and practice of organizational and time management skills
-Ability to maintain and update logs, files, and records with a high degree of accuracy
-Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment and make good decisions
-Ability to understand and interpret complex oral and written instructions, documents, and programs
-Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
-Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with the public and staff and to establish working relationships with other employees and the public.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate
1-2 years of clerical work experience
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
