POSITION SUMMARY
A & Associates is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to work directly with the Executive Vice President in identifying new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in business development, government proposal preparation, market research, client communications, and executive administrative support. The position requires exceptional writing abilities, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Development Manager will assist with the preparation and submission of government and commercial proposals utilizing established company resources and content. Responsibilities include researching prospective clients, reviewing solicitation requirements, developing proposal responses, and preparing professional submissions that demonstrate A & Associates' ability to meet client objectives. COMPENSATION
Starting salary ranges from $65,000 to $70,000 annually as an exempt employee, based upon qualifications and experience. Eligible employees may participate in company sponsored benefits following successful completion of the introductory employment period.
SCHEDULE
The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The position requires working two (2) scheduled Saturdays each month for three (3) hours per Saturday.

- Researching government bids, solicitations, contracts, and grant opportunities
- Preparing, editing, proofreading, and formatting proposals
- Rewriting proposal content based upon management feedback
- Assisting with proposal strategy and development
- Creating project schedules and proposal timelines
- Developing graphics, presentations, and supporting proposal materials
- Coordinating with graphic designers and other internal departments
- Maintaining a consistent professional writing style
- Conducting research to support proposal development
- Preparing executive presentations
- Assisting with business development documentation
- Meeting proposal deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Research prospective customers and market opportunities
- Participate in client meetings, networking events, and business development activities
- Conduct and participate in interviews
- Communicate with clients to understand operational needs and staffing requirements
- Recommend staffing solutions based upon client objectives
- Maintain detailed reports regarding sales activities, client communications, and business development efforts
- Prepare territory sales forecasts and business reports
- Coordinate executive travel, meetings, and appointments
- Prepare meeting agendas and record meeting minutes
- Respond to administrative inquiries and requests
- Retrieve and organize information from company records and databases
- Maintain office filing systems and records
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate office equipment maintenance
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls
- Welcome visitors and clients
- Assist with expense tracking and petty cash documentation
- Support research initiatives and special projects
- Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 1 year of related business development, proposal writing, marketing, sales, or administrative experience is preferred.
- Previous experience preparing government proposals, responding to public sector solicitations, or working within the staffing industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working on a computer
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
- Ability to travel as needed for meetings, conferences, networking events, and client visits
